Do the Rockwood/Flagstaffs hold their value at all over 3, 5, 10 years? Ours is a 2008 and I'm guessing it has probably already dropped $5,000 or so since new just becuase it doesn't seem like TTs hold value well. I am curious if anyone has had a good experience with their TT over time regarding value?

First year depreciation is what it is, drive a new car off the lot and drop 20% of the value, seems even more with a new TT. Depends on the discount you got on the inital purchase.
In Canada "autotrader.ca" lists used RV's many from dealers but lots from private sellers - and it is regional. Kinda a real life blue book.
I wonder about those who took out one of those 12 year loans they were offering on motorhomes when we were kicking trailer tires.

It depends also on whether your camper has desirable options on it, and if everything works, and the overall condition of the camper. Nowadays, the dealers say they can't even give away campers without at least one slide out, as an example. Also, the size and weight play in to the mix, as well. Randy |

I ordered my last two campers from places on the internet. I sold my 2005 Roo (bought in 2004)this spring for $1700 less than what I paid for it four year earlier. I think that is about as well as I will ever do. It looked good as new since it was washed and waxed as needed. I drove to Indiana(9 hrs) to get the first one and to Ohio(6 hrs) to get the last one. You loose out on the dealer/customer relationship and it makes it harder to get warranty work done. I did nothing to the first, but have had some miner problems with the new camper. I could repair everthing so far and the dealer supplied the parts or cut me a check when I mailed a receipt. It's like rolling the dice, but since I paid close to $6 K less than what any dealer local would do, I feel pretty good about the gamble.

They drop faster then a prom queens dress. I traded in my 07 Puma that I had only had for 9 months. Paid 24k, trade in 16,900. That's just ridiculous.

When we bought our 2005 8314ss in Jan of 07, we paid about $5,000 under what it cost new. I checked blue book on it and we paid 1/2 between low and high bluebook. I think if you get beyond a couple of years old, it really starts to drop. Now that it is a year and a half later, I should check BB again to see how much it has dropped since we bought it. We traded our old trailer in (Sunnybrook) and they gave us $7,000 for it. It was 6 years old and when new it was worth $13,000.

It seems like trailers in the 3 to 4 year old range hold their resale value about the best in our area, once you start getting into the 5 year old range they seem to depreciate a lot quicker, of course it depends on the market as well.
