We just found out on the evening news that our local Rockwood dealer is under investigation for fraud and is in bankruptcy.
Seems he didn't pay off some loans on trade ins and consignments. So there some proud owners of two RVs. The one you are enjoying now and the one you and the DMV can't find and you are liable for. Is that not special?
Since we were recent purchasers, we are wondering. Excuse me, I am wondering, Robin is on the ceiling. Finally got her to take her meds and go to bed.
So what about warranty work? I emailed Michael Commee this evening, the Rockwood southeastern sales rep and asked where should we take our TT within a reasonable distance for warranty work. In my mind the Flagstaff dealer might honor the warranty work. Hope so, I don't really want to tow two hours one way just for warranty work. Will do it if I have to but won't be happy about it.
Maybe a good deal is not the best deal. Sure seems that way.

An update:
Does anybody know the tandem towing laws in NC? Cuz it looks like I am liable for two TTs.
OBTW, no response from Rockwood. Crickets.
Talked to our friends and they told me that they pulled their deposit from the Flagstaff dealer. That dealer is going under.
So get out the popcorn and standby.
We'll be contacting our attorney on Monday.

Good luck, Dave! I'm of the belief that the manufacturer's need to step-up and get better control of these dealers. Automobile dealerships (new car) have to meet industry standards or they run the risk of loosing the franchise. It really stinks, that you will have to put yourself (and your presumably good credit rating!) through this BS because of a rip-off artist dealership.

Went by the former dealership yesterday. No sign of our old trailer. Alot of apparently new inventory still sitting here.
And still from Rockwood, all we are getting is crickets.

Quick update:
The local Flagstaff dealer will take our warranty work but cautioned me to contact Forest River first. Fair enough.

Any progress on the trade-in? Have you found it yet? Seeing as you still "own" it, you should at least be able to put it on the open market. Maybe you an get more than the trade value, and it will at least pay you bak for some of the aggrevation. If they "sold" it to someone else, then you still might have rights to it, as the original title should be in your name. What did the lawyer say.

For the time being we have been advised to continue to make the payments on the trade in to protect our credit.
Evidently whoever bought it paid cash and is waiting on a clear title which isn't going to come until the bank is satisfied.
Actually, we know very little at this point since the case is being assembled. So info is tight.

Got word today that the dealer's attorney is about to pay off our trade in. I'll believe it when I see the paperwork from the bank.
He has also made good with the original complaintant. We have been assured that whole situation will be taken care of by Friday by the dealer's attorney. Who by the way, contacted us. But we do know that the creditors meeting with the bankruptcy trustee is next week.
