Thanks Richard ! I agree with you that 30,5 ft long is quite roomy ... specially for only two persons and a small dog ! Moreover, it's a little awkward to continue to call that "camping" ! ...

Todd, Thanks for the welcoming message (other topic) and for the comments about the interior pics. I have followed Norm's helping indications and the modified photographs look much better now than in my first post attempt in this actual section.

| Big Grin - as I looked through your wonderful pics (we have a very similar model) I see that we found the same places for pet bowls and trash can! I still haven't found a good place for the trash - it's always in the way. But the dog bowls are perfect in front of the fuse panel as there's no reason to stand right there. We tried smaller trash cans - not good at all as we were always running to the dumpster. I like your pictures! |

Thanks Fred & Marsha for your nice comments. I agree with you that it was easy for the pet bowls, but for the trash can, it's another story ... I just have tried to move it once, and quickly been told it wasn't my corner ! ... (I also feel it's always in the way ... )

I agree with you for more other 5ers replies. Maybe the coming winter freezes not only the RVs, but their owners too !...

We have the 8280SS (non-bedroom-slide) that has the same kitchen. We keep our trash can under the kitchen sink, unless we have the counter extension out and then it might go under there. We also have a thing that resembles a "lunch bucket"...it has a lid and a handle and might hold about 3 1/2 gallons that serves as a bathroom trash can. Between those two we manage to handle all our garbage. |

Hi Wade ! For how long do you own your 8280SS ? What is your appreciation so far ?
We bought our 8280WS (first Forest River product) last year on August 1st, made just 4 camping expeditions with it (end of the short camping season here in the north), but slept in for over 76 nights in a row (until October 15), when it became a little frosty in the driveway ! ... We love this floorplan !

Greetings, We have a '05 8280SS, one slide with the white interior. We have been very pleased with the unit, no major problems in aproximately 15,000 milles of towing. I did beef up the kitchen drawers by glueing some strips of oak to the bottoms. We did replace the 12 volt battery with two 6 volt interstate batteries and seem to get longer battery life. We have a slightly different bathroom layout but also use just two small garbage cans that seem to handle everything well. There is just the two of us and the two Damnations, who hate rving. When we become dogless we will look for a fifth wheel that is just a little smaller to be able to get into some smaller campsites and will definitley take a hard look at the Forest Rivier line. We would also like to have larger tanks to extend boondocking.
