Hello everybody great forum, still learning how everything works. Have a problem with 07 5th wheel 8287ss nose cone come coming apart again. dealer fixed it last year, now coming apart again (poor fix) warranty was out in april 09. Have picture of none cone, first time it came apart above hitch and sides, not sure how to post pictures. Would appreciate if anybody has any suggestions or how dealer are repairing problem. There is only 1 dealer in my location, they are more of a car dealership than a rv dealer. I'm not interested in returning to dealer, going to try repair myself.

Yellow Knife "My God Man" no wonder there no repair shops it your area.I would love to visit your area one day. There is a truck and trailer repair shop in my area they also repair RV's & Motor Homes
May be you could try that route.
How long is the camping season up there????

Thanks for the welcome. So steve I take it you know where I am. As per you question parks open in mid may close mid sept. Only place here to fix problem would be chrysler dealership where i bought it. But I dont think there is anybody there that can really fix it properly. I talked to a dealer in Edmonton Alberta today that sells rockwoods, but haven't seen the problem before, going to send some pictures to them. But there also about 1600km south. I tryed to send email to member BUD in ontario, he had the same problem, but couldnt due to not enough postson forum. Was wondering if you would be able to email him to contact me to see if he knows how they fixed it. Would appreciate the help Thanks brian

Hello bbrown:

We have the same problem with our Rockwood 5th wheel as have other owners. We took it to several rv dealers and they tried to fix it but were unsuccessful. Jonathan Gust is the Warranty Manger for Rockwood trailers in Indiana and he has a power point presentation that he claims will fix this problem. We have sent our unit back to the factory today since it is still under warranty and the issue is the nose cone and the side wall separating. Jonathon has been most helpful in dealing with our problems and his phone number is 574-642-5166, email - jgust@forestriverinc.com. He is worth talking to. I don't know whether you can fix it yourself or not but worth the phone call. He can also suggest, perhaps, a Forest River Dealer in the area that can do the fix. We have spent over $1500.00 in gas going back and forth to dealers trying to get this problem and many others with the unit fixed. Our warranty runs out this August so we are anxious to get done what we can. Good luck. Bud.

On the road again eh! from east side of Algonquin Park
