I currently have the 205 75R 15 (C range) tires on my TT but really want to beef up my safety margin regarding load. I know that there are a few brands that offer the 205 75R 15 in the D range, but wouldn't it be even better to go up to the 225 75 R15 (D range)? Will these larger size tires physically fit within the wheel well and no rub when turning etc.? I have a Flagstaff 831BHSS, does anyone have a similar size TT that has gone up to the 225's? I would think having even more rubber on the road would be better?

Also, I was told that 700-15 tires are good for towing. They are narrow and tall (supposedly better with towing stability but I have no idea on this....)
Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
The overall diameter of the 225/75R15 is 28.9" and the diameter on the 205/75R 15 is 27.1" (1.8" difference)

I don't see where you'll have a problem under the wheel well.

Don't go with the 700/15, you may have a little extra sway.

Thanks Mike. So you think that the 225 should be ok? Wouldn't the 225 in the D range be even better than the 205 in the D range or am I missing something?

Joe,

Be aware that you will have to change your wheels to use the 225 tires. Your present wheels are 5 inches wide, the 225's require a minimum 6 inch width.

Right now there are no 205's in load range D that are not made in China. Denman is producing their new Cargo Carrier tire in china.
