I have a 8319ss now but used to have a 295 Springdale travel trailer. I would blow the water out of the lines and dump some rv antifreeze in the traps of sinks and shower/tub and some down the toilet and never had a problem. My question is can I do this with my Rockwood without having any problems? I've never run anti-freeze threw the pump before and would like to skip that process. I live in northern Ohio, plenty cold in winter.

Although, I see nothing wrong with running RV anti-freeze through the fresh water pump and plumbing, I guess if the way you were doing it with your Springdale, it'll work for your Rockwood.

Today I drained the freshwater tank and the water heater, took out this year's filter cartrige, then blew mine out with compressed air. After that, I "bypassed" the water heater, and rlushed pink stuff out every faucet, inside & outside shower, and the toilet flush. Poured the little remaining in the bottom of the jugs into drain traps. All faucets and low-point drains left in the closed position. This year, I also remembered to blow-out the inlet for the Tornado flush. Last winter, I cracked the line and had to repair it because I left it full of water. Previously, I had done a thorough flush of the black andd gray tanks for the winter. I also took off my Pressure Pro sending units on the five TT tires for the season. (Taking the pressure off them turns them off and saves battery.)

| Hey thanks for all the help everyone! I did forget to blow the line for the black tank flush, thanks for the reminder Fire Instructor. I've decided to run RV antifreeze through the lines just because I have 3 sinks, toilet, inside shower and outside shower. Dealer said bring it in, he'll winterize it for free and show me in the process so no problems in the future. He is about 8 miles away, so no big deal. |

Thanks to all of you also. I ran back out to storage area and blew out the black tank cleaning line and added a small amount of antifreeze. For got about it. Also cleared the city connection and added antifreeze.
