Today's project was to add an AC outlet in the bathroom of our 8315SS.
The first picture is the finished product.

The first step, after obtaining the matching vent, was to locate the hole in the ceiling, to tap into the AC run. This was done by measuring the distance from the wall to the center of the extisting AC vent, in the bedroom. It was 33 1/4" in from the wall. I would advise measuring for yourself, since no two Rockwoods are built the same! I then decided where I wanted the vent fore and aft, and marked the center. The hole for the vent is 4 3/4" diameter, I used a compas to mark the hole.

Using a utility knife and making a series of pie cuts, I cut the hole in the ceiling. Take your time doing this. Here is the hole, partially cut.

Here is a shot of the vent, which I purchased at a local RV salvage dealer. Here is a link to the place where I purchased the vent. They also had the white square head screws to match.

The outside diameter of the vent is 6 1/2" and is an exact match of the ones used in our trailer.

The entire project including cleaning up the loose styrofoam took about 20 minutes.

So you too determined that there was in fact channels going back to the bathroom?? I think I have in fact two channels as determined by an infared temp gun. I have the 829RGSS Flagstaff classic super lite tt. Why they didn't add it at the factory is beyond me??!!
How well does your vent work??
Thanks,

Yes there are two AC channels running down the ceiling, the entire length of the trailer. The front and rear ends of these channels are blocked off with foam in place material.
The air flow out of the vent I added feels the same as the air flow out of all the other vents.

Looks like I have a new project for next summer. Amazing they could not do this at the factory. So how did you confirm that the channel was there? Darin

I confirmed mine two ways....one was with my hand, starting from one wall and running my hand across the ceiling I could feel the temp difference. The second way was with an infared temp gun doing the same thing. With my back to the rest of the tt I stopped where the ceiling was cooler than the rest and turning around and see it in line with the rest of the vents in the tt. I suspected there were channels when I could feel cold air coming out of the double light in the bath area!
