Hi All,
Anyone have type trailer in the subj line? Just wanted to know how things are working for them in their trailer as we just purchased a 2008 new a few weeks ago. Plan on getting it out in the next week or two and test things out. Still getting things gathered up for use in the trailer. Me I need the coffee pot packed after that wife and daughter will most likely use the remaining weight capacity for themselves and their Needed items.

Bill - i have the Rockwood sister 8317ss (2007) and Love it. I have 3 kids so the bunks are great. Only thing I have had to do is fix a small leak in the shower (fitting not tight) in 2 1/2 years. Good luck. If you have any other questions let me know.

I have a 2007 831QBSS. Last year was my first full year with the camper. I believe that there are one or two others on the forums with the quad bunk as well. I have not had any real issues with the camper so far. I have made a few modifications to it for convenience sake and I plan to address the digital TV conversion on the main TV this summer.
We have camped a fair amount in it, and I have made one long distance trip so far (Michigan to Tennessee and back). Don't hesitate to ask if you have any specific questions.

Todd,
Have you checked the axel setup under your trailer? I looked at mine and the rear axel mounts are angled down away from the frame about 3/4 of an inch. I would think it is to be flat against the frame, but it may be done for adjustment at the factory when installed. Seems a little different. The slide side tires measure 3 and 7/8 inches apart and the door side tires measure 4 1/4 inches apart. I am guessing this might cause some sort of tire wear down the road.

Hi Bill,
I have not yet checked my axles although I have read all of the posts regarding it. Last spring, I was under the trailer and I painted the axles with rustolem paint because of all of the surface rust. I didn't see anything obvious then, but I wasn't looking for this particular problem. I will be looking for it when I get the trailer out of winter hibernation though.

| We have finished our first full year with our 831QBSS and have nothing but praise for it. We are foster parents and sometimes we have numerous kids. With the quad bunk design, everyone has their own bed, which is very nice. All the systems work well. We've had issues with the black tank gauge, but that may be related to an 8 year old we kept who flushed things he shouldn't have and I'm sure we'll get it cleaned out. We pull it with a Durango and have had no problems. |

Well still have not had a chance to christen the first camping trip. We had planned to camp weekend of the 17th April. Just was not meant to happen as DW started having problems (9 weeks pregnant) and we assumed the worst. Lot's of prayers and prayer chains going this last weekend. Good news at least was Monday Doc said she is good to go. It is a beautiful thing. Anyway rescheduled and we will be out at local CG the 30th for first run. Now I have to do all the work while DW directs me on what to do (got her a rocking chair) Alas the DD (6) said she will help. God Bless and have a great week.

Update, Total number of days camping with new TT first season so far total about 19 days.
We have camped at full hook ups and one site with only 20amp electric (that is a story on it's own)
The TT has held up to 101 degree heat with the A/C working as hard as it could and kept the TT comfortable.
The 20amp site just did not have enough juice to run the A/C due to faulty and very old breakers.
Overall a few things to correct, like the sofa latch that is broken and the drawer opens all the time while towing. A small suitcase placed between the cabinet and the sofa keeps it closed.
I have learn many things and improved my checklist like remembering to close the access door before you head down the road. Got the habit of walk around before jumping in to take off.
I learned that the automatic dump for the awning does work if you do not extend it out and lock it all the way. Once I figured that out we spent some time outside timing when it would dump just like the big bucket at the water park does.
DW is now a (uncomfortable) HAPPY expecting mom and all issues are good with mom and baby. Overall we have had fun and my DD even learned to ride her bike without training wheels while camping (that is what it is all about in my opinion)

Hi Bill,
Glad things are working out the with 831QBSS. Three of my kids learned to ride their bikes while camping as well as the son of a friend that we camp with a couple times per year. The campground just seems like an ideal place for learning to ride a bike.

The TT was winterized last weekend after the snow stopped falling. The 831QBSS Flagstaff did well this year with a few exceptions.
1. Awning canvas slid on the tube. Fixed by sliding canvas back into position. Will screw the canvas on tube to keep it in place.
2. Sofa drawer does not stay closed when towed. Will have dealer repair.
3. Pocket door to front bedroom broke. Dealer to repair.
4. Refrigerator door catch bent and door does not close well. Dealer to repair.
Other than those items, I did modify the bedroom with a LCD TV tilt bracket. Spent most time and money just outfitting the TT with all the things you want and need when camping.
Now to concentrate on making sure the new addition to the family is ready to go camping next year. DW due in November soon we will be happy with another little one camping.
