Hi All,

I have a deposit placed on a site in an about to be developed RV resort. I have been asked to serve on the interim owners committee until the election of officers. I am also working on a set of campground rules.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Darin

Definitely quiet time hours.

I don't mind waking early to the sounds of nature, but I despise hearing "people" up at 6 a.m. Many of them are only cooking breakfast, yet they yell to their friends and neighbors. At one campground we were staying at, a toddler was on his FisherPrice motorized plastic car. The sound on the gravel was deafening, okay during the day but not at 6:30 a.m.!!!

Thanks 812.
Quiet hours are in there, but only for the evening. I'll have to add a note about the morning as well.
Good suggestion.

Here are a few we have encountered over the years. Do not tie your pets to the trees or anything else including a clothes line. No unattended poles where there is fishing and no trot lines. Limit on how many poles you can use at a time and on how many fish you may keep per day and the size requirement to be kept. No foul language, no alcohol, no smoking in buildings, no unattended campfires, pets must be on leash and you must clean up after them, quiet hours usually from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m., children must be in their campsite during quiet hours, certain hours for swimming and some rules. That is all I can think of just now but if I find my flyers from the cgs I will list some more.

Thanks,
I have developed the following categories, with each populated:
1. Guests
2. Children
3. General Conduct
4. Campfires / BBQ’s
5. Campsites
6. Pets

THe total number or line items now stands at around 60. Seems like a lot, but when you get into the nitty-gritty there is a lot of ground to be covered to protect the campers, kiddies, and the resort itself.

Cheers,
Darin

Speed limits and the number of vehicles allowed to park at the site. Otherwise you end up with cars parking everywhere. If you want to have a speed limit sign stand out make if a number other than 5mph or 10mph. Limit signs like 7, 8 or 9 mph stand out and make folks think.

I must have missed this topic first time by, but it's similar to discussions I've had about fire department rules. In one such discussion, a very wise fie service guru asked a simple question which generated much thought: "If you can get to Heavan with only ten rules, why would a fire department (or campground) need more?"
