| Hey DUNNNC We were just looking at your topic on dealers. We were thinking of replying but realized how long ago it was posted. We bought our from Tom Johnson in Marion. Our guy was Greg Helms and we loved him as much as the place. My cousin just bought a 2009 from Greg two weeks ago. My aunt bought a fifth wheel from there a few months ago but it was a............some other brand. ha ha I would recommend them anytime and anywhere to anyone. We had a few little things to repair in the beginning also and they made us feel like we were the only customer they had. Even after four years we still feel like we matter when we go there. |

Welcome from Iowa. We enjoy our 831qbss also. Bought it in March and have spent almost three weeks in it so far. We just finished a family camping trip of relatives involving over 60 family members. The fun never ends.
How's your burb doing with your TT? My 2002 burb does not appreciate hills all that much.

Hey ya'll, Michelle here. Thanks for the nice welcome. Our burb does fine pulling our tt. It and my husband just don't like the hill up to Boone (at all). He says other than that the gas is on the right! Ha Ha!
sawdusty, We have been looking for four years to find something close to home for weekends. Something nice that is 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours away. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions? We camp in Marion, Cherokee, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach on a regular yearly basis. Our favorite place has become James Island county park in Charleston. It has a water park, bike trails, rock climbing wall, fishing pier on the waterway, and dog parks on a lake. It's amazing. |

We camp a lot at Kings Mountain SP which is only 23 miles from our home in Shelby. It is six miles south of Kings Mountain on Rt. 161 at the NC/SC state line. It is not a fancy park, but it is quiet and the bath houses are clean. It has 115 sites with water/electric and no sewer hookups. All but a couple of the sites are shady with large oak and pine trees. It is next to the Kings Mountain Battle Ground National Park where the last battle of the Revolutionary War was fought in 1780. There is a museum and a paved trail that goes around the mountain battle ground with many monuments and plaques along the way. It's a great place for a good walk in the mornings.
We have camped at many campgrounds in NS/SC and we also get down to Charleston, one of our favorite places, every year and stay at James Island or Oak Plantation when there. What part of NC do you all call home?. Perhaps we have camped at a CG that is near you and can give you a report on it...

Hey sawdusty,
Thanks for the info. We have camped at Kings Mtn. We live in Gastonia, NC about a rocks throw from the SC state line near Clover.
We have also camped at Oak Plantation in Charleston but we LOVE!!!! James Island. We have two girls, 8 and 10, and there is so much more to do there.
Hope to camp near you soon. Hfamily
