Recently traded up from Coleman Bayside Pop-up to Flagstaff 26 RBSS, DW impressed with the bathroom! First trip was 10 days dry camping in the Adirondaks. First impressions are very good.

I'm new to this RV world too, gain lots of insights from forums. Don't be afraid to ask "dumb" questions, the only dumb question is the one not asked. Just learned about putting a bolt through the little hole on the catch on my ball hitch today, been using it for a year, ... who knew?

Yes, its a good idea to have a "keeper" on the hitch toggle, but rather than a bolt which is hard to remove, use a "push pin" (with a detent ball that retracs when you pull the ring) when you are traveling. That way should you need to disconnect in a hurry (brake fire on trailer, accident, or other emergency requiring a quick get away) you just pull the pin out. At Rest stops or when disconnected, use a keeper locking pin lock to secure the coupler from theft. While you could use the keeper lock while traveling, you would need your keys to unhitch from your truck. This could cause wasted seconds since you would most likely need to shut down the truck to unhitch, then restart the truck to pull away. Keeping the toggle secured during travel IS a safety issue (like crossing the safety chains under the hitch to "catch" the trailer A frame and prevent it from digging into the asphalt if you disconnect while driving), so please do it. While only once in a million trips will something like this happen to a camper, if you should be the unlucky one an ounce of prevention. Safe RVing! Lou

Learn something every day here, . . . so I'm to look for a "push pin" with a detent ball, and a "keeper locking pin lock". I wonder if the kid at the Canadian Tire will ahve a clue when I ask for these items.

Thanks MILZAT, that is exactly what I was talking about.
The coupler keeper lock is available most anywhere (Lowes, Home Depot, Auto Zone, UHaul, etc) or you can order onlive from:
http://www.rvwholesalers.com/catalog/coupler-lock-coupler-lock.html
That RV Wholesaler site is very good and not very expensive for most things. They have a neat widget for finding out the wholesale price of a camper (like some car web sites) then you can use that information to negotiate with your local RV dealer. They are in Ohio, so is you are local to them you are very lucky. Lou
