Well, here we go. Our first big issue. Went out to ventilate that camper after a heavy rain and there was about a cup of water on the floor under the AC. We just had a cover (commercial) over the AC not the entire camper.

I never saw a leak without the cover so I removed it and after the next rain, there was some water in a bucket I had put under the air handler.

There was water in the metal plate that is on the inside of the camper (lower plywood skin was also wet).

Dealer said to bring it it, so I will let you know what develops.

Sounds like the AC might need to be tightened dow a bit or the mounting seals replaced.

I hope that that is all that it is! I am afraid its coming down a wire race from another place on the roof and I am finally seeing it after 6 months of leaking. I am totally freaked that it might have delaminated the lower roof plywood skin. :-(

Standing by for good news... (I hope)

Lou,

Make sure that they perform the pressurized leak test. This helps them locate the leak most of the time. Much better than a manual inspection.

Alrighty, an interesting day. Dean, the tech at Media Camping Center (Awesome Dude!) spotted the problem right away. Apparently the AC was not torqued down properly and the foam gaskets were crushed on one side and almost completely expanded on the other. The water under the seal was the giveaway that it was indeed the source of my leak. About 2 hours of their coffee and I was on the road again.

Learned A LOT about slide emergency preparedness while I was waiting.

Look under the Slide Forum for more on this fascinating topic.
If you think you have heard it all, just wait.

Lou,

Glad your leak was fixed. I have heard that the foam gasket is usually the first place to look on the A/C for leaks.
